Greek salad
The last two weeks of September must be about the best time to visit Greece - your sandals aren’t going to melt and the hordes of bumptious yoot have been replaced by a handful of paunchy northerners. My drowsy fortnight in Rhodes was certainly relaxing, so relaxing it seems, that back home blogging didn’t cross my mind. At last I’ve woken from my post-holiday slumber - Ecstatic Gaucho is back.
Back with a recipe picked up in Greece. The Greek Salad is simple, but effective. Healthy, but tasty. Light, but filling.
Greek salad
Tomato
Cucumber
Red Onion
Olives
Feta Cheese
Dried Oregano
Chop an equal amount of tomatoes and cucumber into each bowl, add rings of onion. Plop a slab of feta on the top and about four olives (two is too few in my opinion) round the edge. Finally shake yr oregano over the top. You can use either oreg-are-no or oreg-uno, ie UK or US style herb.
Put on some cacophonous free jazz and eat.
