Hardpressed with Wordpress
Since I changed my blog host, which allowed me to gain access to the server, I’ve been having fun adding new plugins into the newly updated Wordpress blogging software. Then recently I noticed there was a note telling me that there was even newer and still better Wordpress software which I should install. The Wordpress site gives the impression that updating the software is simple, but you mustn’t forget to make a back up first.
The current files were downloaded and backed up, the new files were uploaded, I pressed the button and there was that blank page again, the one I got six weeks ago when I first tried updating the software. Luckily, after reinstalling some of my old files and folders EG is back up again, but without the images. Darn.
It’s nice thinking of oneself as techy, but it turns out that actually walking the technological walk is a lot harder. It seems that adding plugins is to blogs like driving a Fiat Uno while dreaming of Formula One…
