Leoc on tour
I was done in last night. A ski trip tomorrow meant that I had to do my weekly long run for the marathon earlier than normal. So I ran the long work run three times - a whopping 16 and a half miles… After that, even getting home was a bit tricky, I had to stop in a newsagents for a bottle of Lucozade after my five minute walk across London Bridge. Then when I got off the train, it was straight into a chippie for a plate of cod and chips.
Still, it was up bright and early - I would be joining the masses to queue virtually for today’s release of tickets for the Leonard Cohen concert at the O2 Arena. My lumbering work computer had to be up and running for the 9:00 deadline to beat the masses.
The O2 ticket page - utterly blank!
Ready, steady… book! Hey, the O2 site wasn’t working…amazing as it might seem the O2 site was blanker than a Zen Mind. Their site must have crashed under the sheer weight of Leonard Cohen fans - fingers pecking on their mouses like existensial chickens after alien corn. Luckily, after prior discussion with another fan, we’d already formulated ‘Plan B’: Ticketmaster.
Three minutes later, everything was under control. Tickets bought and bank balance depleted I was ready for an evening in the company of the ‘Jewish Keats‘. Halleluliah.
