On anomalies - computer recycling and water
My old computer is knackered and I want to get rid of the thing (and the other old and knackered one that I was given I’d like to sling out as well), but I’m somewhat reluctant to contribute to the ever growing mountain of computers. With the motto ‘Reduce, reuse, recycle’ banging around my brain, I’ve found a list of places to take and recycle your computer - very nifty. I’m gonna try Computer Aid, which has its base on the Holloway Road. Not bad.
On a more abstract and scientific tip, apparently water has 41 ‘anomalous’ properties. Although we tend to assume that H2O is a fairly basic liquid, and not in the least bit flashy (unless it is a mountain stream with the sunlight dancing on its pellucid surface) this is not so. Water does some things that are pretty counter-intuitive, like hot water freezes faster than cold water and it shrinks when it melts. Well I never.
