Ah-ha, today I made my first original posting on Wikipedia – on the ‘bump of locality’. Oh yeah! Then, what do I find they don’t like it because it is a ‘term’ (which is an illegal entry). So I edited to take both references to term, let’s see what happens. Just in case they do take it down, this is what I wrote:
“The ‘bump of locality’ is the sense of direction as understood the discredited science of phrenology, where the size and shape of the head was thought to determine character and intelligence. According to phrenology, bumps on the head corresponded to faculties, including navigational ability.

‘Bump of locality’ made its way into the literature of the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries. Jerome K Jerome uses the term in his classic comic travel book ‘Three Men on the Bummel; the term also finds its way into Mark Twain’s ‘Roughing It’ and John Galsworthy’s ‘A Silent Wooing’ amongst other works.”

Let’s see what happens…
